Wimpy Kid Movie

As we announced in the spring, the third Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie is going to be released August 3, 2012. The movie is a combination of the 3rd and 4th Diary of a Wimpy Kid books (Last Straw and Dog Days).

You can see the official movie trailer below. It starts out with Greg getting into his usual embarrassing trouble by losing his swim trunks on the diving board at the public pool. It ends with a confession he probably should not have made.

My 11-year-old daughter says “It looks like a very kid friendly movie that is humorous for all ages. It would be a good movie for a family night.”

Do you agree?

Greg Heffley is any typical 6th grader in the 2nd Diary of a Wimpy Kid Movie, Rodrick Rules. Like any other siblings, they fight, until mom comes up with “Mom Bucks,” that they earn for bonding with each other. When mom, dad, and Manny go to a Water Park, Rodrick throws a party and Greg gets involved. But, what happens when they get caught, and Rodrick gets grounded from the Talent Show? Will Greg talk his parents into letting Rodrick play with his band, Loaded Diaper in the competition? Watch the movie to find out!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Trailer

January 22, 2010

The first trailer of the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid Movie has been released. I have to admit that a lot of the characters are not as I pictured them (or as they were illustrated in the book). The movie is based on the first book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney. The movie is set to be released April 2, 2010, and stars Zachary Gordon, Robert Capron, Steve Zahn, Rachel Harris, and Chloe Moretz. You can order a copy of the “Wimpy Kid Movie Diary” from Amazon.

What do you think of the trailer?

In anticipation of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie coming in April, a new Wimpy Kid book is being released. This one is actually a “diary” of the making of the Wimpy Kid Movie. It’s hardcover and over 200 pages.

The Wimpy Kid Movie Diary will take you through the process of turning a hit book series into a movie. The book will contain “photographs, script pages, storyboard sketches, costume designs, and original art by Jeff Kinney.”

Pre-order the Wimpy Kid Movie Diary from Amazon now for a March 16 release. It’s eligible for Free Super Saver Shipping.

Do you know someone who looks and acts like Greg Heffley, the main character in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series? If so, he should audition for the movie! 20th Century Fox is currently casting for the lead role in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie.  They are seeking an actor aged 10 to 13 who they describe as “slight and skinny, physically unprepossessing, not overly cute or precious, with a quirky, memorable face.”

If your kid fits the bill, head to the Diary of a Wimpy Kid casting site. Just for fun, you can also check out current submissions on their site.
